You Have Heard About IQ And EQ But What About SQ?
Spiritual Intelligence or SQ as it has become known as is what people use to develop their capacity for vision, value, meaning and purpose in their life. It has been little appreciated or utilised that fully within the mainstream corporate world of business to date, whereas IQ, (Intellectual intelligence), EQ (emotional intelligence) and PQ (physical intelligence) are well established and generally practised. SQ could be considered to be the super-process highway integrating stimuli to the left and right brain hemispheres. It gives us our ability to use a multi-sensory approach to matters such as problem solving by listening to our intuition. SQ facilitates dialog between the mind and the body, for example, if we know how to rely on our SQ then we have more courage, are less fearful and more accustomed to relying on ourselves. We are more willing to face the difficult and the uncomfortable aspects of our life. It enables us to live life more spontaneously and worry less about the uncertainty around our situation. It is the inner alchemy, enabling a person to transform setbacks into lessons, problems into opportunities and pain into wisdom. SQ aids our ability to discriminate giving us our moral sense and code of values allowing us to temper rigid rules with compassion tolerance and understanding. We use SQ to dream, to aspire and to lift up our spirits. It is, therefore, the ultimate transformative intelligence. IQ primarily solves logical problems and EQ allows us to judge the situation we find ourselves in and behave appropriately but SQ allows us to ask if we want to be in that situation in the first place.
